The company Moog Music from Asheville, New Carolina carries the name of the inventor of the music synthesizer. And the legend himself, Bob Moog, was able to experience the most successful period of this company during the last years of his life. We first met Bob in 2001 at the NAMM Show, the most important international music trade fair held in Los Angeles, USA. Since then, we have been designing the most prestigious analog synthesizers available on the global market today
Starting with the Moog Voyager, the direct descendant of the most well known and original instrument of this genre - the "Mini Moog" - right up to the latest and tragically last music machine that Bob Moog created with his own hands, the Moog "Little Phatty".
Such personal design is only possible through the closest collaboration with the technology developers themselves. This no longer requires physical proximity, which is proven by the extremely efficient handling of the design process using modern means of communication: While we're presenting our ideas here in Ravensburg with clear drawings, the developers on the other side of the pond are already implementing the first draft of the user interface.
Any adjustments and joint discussions with the whole development team take place via the Internet in virtual chat rooms. The participants are our designers and design engineers in Germany, the developers in the USA and Europe and the producers in the Far East.
This international collaboration proves to be enormously efficient. The difference between the various time zones creates a development drive which pushes the project forward literally around the clock.
An advantage which many of our overseas customers have been enjoying for a long time.
